The Famous FOUGA with CJ610 engines

This is the only one who was made or should I say played with

I went to see and inspected that aircraft

He was modified with 2 CJ610 engines instead of Marbore II

Problem: no records of any test flights made, no weight and balance, no record of the condition of the engines, no records of airframe modifications made, because main spar was cut to fit the engines.....

It was a good crazy project

It could have been done but with serious records

Fouga out off the hangar flying again

After 7 years in a hangar, that fouga is flying again in Georgia.

It took a couple of days for the fine tuning of the aircraft having his annual inspection overdue

Hot and humid

One brake aluminum hydraulic line was cracked due to aging

And now the proud owner is ready to take his check ride for CM170 rating
after having given him the necessary flight and ground instruction

MS760 inspection

I went for an MS760 inspection, and even if the aircraft look good, nice paint , old avionics complete and not tested, I did my inspection as each mechanic should do:

First Borescope with a real borescope not a autozone one!

Even if last entries was done by a mechanic, and then the aircraft never flew again, how he could missed the cracks and holes far beyond possible repairs, since nobody is doing overhaul for the Turbomeca Marbore engines.

I do not talk about pencil whipping overhaul.

Right engine outer combustion chamber:

 Left engine outer combustion chamber:

To top it off, wings have corrosion.

Be careful,  use a competent mechanic who know the aircraft

It could end up to have a airplane costing you too much to fix or taking place in your hangar for a long time.

Remember Standard category MS760 have 1000 hours TBO time for the Marbore VI C2 engines mandatory and 750 hours for Marbore II C3 engines.

Other types of Marbore like VI J2 was never type certificated in the US so can be installed only on MS760 under experimental category.

5-1587    RECENCY OF EXPERIENCE for turbojet military aircraft

5-1587    RECENCY OF EXPERIENCE. ASIs should encourage holders of authorizations to complete a flight review in at least one aircraft for which an authorization is held every 24 calendar‑months. This flight review may be conducted in a comparable aircraft per the appropriate aircraft sets referenced in paragraph 5‑1582. The flight review will be conducted in accordance with § 61.56 by a CFI or an authorized instructor.
A lot of people are sure that they know it all.
Reading is so simple and do not extrapolate.

New addition on the flight line: Mig 15

This is my new acquisition adding to the Fougas
Mig 15 UTI
I am glad to have flown with the fouga before because  he gave me experience to fly the MIG 15
The Mig 15 is not a entry jet aircraft, it is a combat aircraft, and the Mig trainer was built after the combat aircraft flew.
That Aircraft fly like a charm at speed above 250Kts, below 150Kts be careful,  it is a tank

Old HP fuel pump seals

As you can see old fuel pump seals needed to be removed because they deteriorated at a point that I never saw before.

Fouga back to France

JoJo and I removed the wings, Tail, and installed them with the fuselage on supports for that Fouga to go back to France
