Bad brake pads

I came across some pads that was made in the US for the fouga around 20 years ago,

They are yellow color

After 10 landings, the brakes was shot .

If you have theses brake pads, the only place to put them is in the garbage

Use the right brake pads and it will save you troubles

Fouga range

 Hello,

Sure when you look the charts, you can plan a very long legs trip.

Realisticaly, you have to take care of the wind in altitude, time to climb, .....

Easy way is to plan legs no more than 250NM with center tank full and wing tip tanks full maxi 300NM but check everything!

Just flew with one of my fouga who have fuel flow indicator;

On a marbore II at 5000ft both engines 20,000rpm, fuel flow 80USG/hour at a speed of 215kts indicated

with one engine shut down, still 5000ft left engine still at 20,000rpm indicated speed 170kts

So with both engines with both engines 160usg/hr at 5000ft and 215nm covered

With one engine you will have cover 340nm at 5000ft with 160usg.

Think about it before running out of jetA.

Fouga from trainer to interceptor

The only mighty Fouga is back in California city to be reconditionned for flying conditions

One comment: 2 engines CJ610-6 of 2,950 lbf (13.1 kN) thrust

Fouga left for a couple of years

After having been forgotten for more than 10 years, this fouga was back in the air from Texas to Southern California

Fouga brakes

When the brake pistons are extended be sure that you have some brake pads left  before that the all brake Assyrian need to be redone instead of just replacing the pads

Turbomeca AD for Marbore engines for Standard Airworthiness certificate aircraft (MS760)

With a Standard Airworthiness certificate aircraft, Turbomeca AD or CN 2001-445A the 1800 hours TBO time was dropped down the TBO to 720 hours or 15 years since overhaul for Marbore II engines
and 1000 hours TBO or 15 years since the overhaul for Marbore VI engines.

Be carefull, you could be flying on a non airworthy aircraft.

Fouga Cabin Briefing

Speed brakes does not retract when emergency selector is on out position

If you own a Fouga or fly a fouga, you have to be careful about speed brakes emergency selector mode.

On some aircraft when you select speed brakes out in emergency mode and let the selector in out position, with the normal system on the power handle in retract mode, the speed brakes will not retract.

Some other aircraft even with the emergency selector for the speed brakes in out position, the speed brakes with the normal system on the power handle in retract mode, the speed brakes retract.

Do that check before the next flight .

Scam about some Morane Saulnier MS760

That aircraft is registered as he was supposed to be.

Marbore VI C2 engines was type certificated in the US

Marbore II C3 engines was type certificated in the US

If you have a MS760 who does not have theses engines or Marbore VI J2, and is registered as standard category, falsification was made for the registration of that aircraft with the FAA and that aircraft need to be registered as EXPERIMENTAL .

A lot of people was tricked and lied, and now the aircraft is illegal to fly.

Have a aircraft inspected by a mechanic who know the regulations, the aircraft, and honest.

Wheel braking on take off

Probably due to aging metal, a main gear wheel broke at take off

The wheel stayed on the landing gear

I could make the landing but without using the brakes, it was pulling the aircraft to the right ( side that wheel was broken )

And no hard landings, even with the students

The Famous FOUGA with CJ610 engines

This is the only one who was made or should I say played with

I went to see and inspected that aircraft

He was modified with 2 CJ610 engines instead of Marbore II

Problem: no records of any test flights made, no weight and balance, no record of the condition of the engines, no records of airframe modifications made, because main spar was cut to fit the engines.....

It was a good crazy project

It could have been done but with serious records

Fouga out off the hangar flying again

After 7 years in a hangar, that fouga is flying again in Georgia.

It took a couple of days for the fine tuning of the aircraft having his annual inspection overdue

Hot and humid

One brake aluminum hydraulic line was cracked due to aging

And now the proud owner is ready to take his check ride for CM170 rating
after having given him the necessary flight and ground instruction
